The gap in Australia's credit market demanded a new kind of firm.
Australia's structured credit market has long been nascent, underserved by domestic infrastructure, dominated by a handful of incumbents, and reliant on offshore frameworks. Rated, transparent, institutionally governed programs of the kind that define global CLO and CMBS markets were never built here at scale.
Gallantree was founded to change that. We build the credit infrastructure, the technology platform, and the rated, reportable programs that connect Australian originators to domestic super funds, insurance balance sheets, and global credit allocators. Institutional-grade, end to end, with no legacy systems and no conflicts inherited from a financial services parent.

Australian structured credit has been built, and largely controlled, out of Sydney and Melbourne for decades. Gallantree is proof that institutional-grade credit infrastructure does not need to live on a single postcode. We chose Queensland deliberately, and we are building here for the long term.

Gallantree is headquartered in Brisbane, the fastest-growing capital in Australia and home to a rising financial services sector anchored by super funds, insurers, and the 2032 Olympic pipeline of institutional capital.
Independent by design
Building outside the Sydney–Melbourne duopoly has been a deliberate choice. It lets us recruit from a different talent pool, operate without the herd-mentality of the traditional bank corridors, and focus on credit rather than proximity.

From Queensland we originate domestically, structure to global institutional standards, and distribute to allocators across Australia, Asia, the United States, and Europe.

From founding thesis to market infrastructure
Phase 1 · 2021 – 2023
Validation
Market mapping of Australian structured credit. Thesis validation with originators, trustees, rating agencies, and institutional allocators. Foundational IP and operating model defined.
Phase 2 · 2023 – 2024
Development
Proprietary platform built in-house across loan management, structuring, trustee operations, and investor reporting. Australian Financial Services Licence secured, with continuous ASIC oversight. First program structures and capital partners locked in.
Phase 3 · 2025 – 2027
Launch
First Gallantree rated programs brought to market. CRE CLO and Corporate Credit CLO issuance, with institutional allocations from domestic super funds and offshore credit investors. Platform deployed to external clients.
Phase 4 · 2027 onwards
Growth and future
Scale across asset classes, including ABS and RMBS. Gallantree becomes core Australian structured credit infrastructure, connecting domestic origination with global institutional capital through rated, transparent, platform-native programs.
